POCO M8 Pro has undergone testing in response to requests from the community. Upon reviewing the specifications, it closely resembles its pricier counterpart, the POCO X8 Pro.
Both the more affordable versions of both devices feature 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. They both have AMOLED screens with 120 Hz, 1.5K resolution, and high brightness levels.
When it comes to battery and charging, both have a 6,500mAh capacity and come with a strong 100W charger.
The M8 Pro is priced at around R$ 400, unlike the X8 Pro, prompting me to investigate where Xiaomi had cut costs. It wasn’t in water protection as both models are fully certified with IP69K resistance, capable of withstanding high-pressure water jets and varying temperatures.
Xiaomi revealed at the processor that the POCO M8 Pro features a Snapdragon 7S Gen 4 chip, which offers good performance but is not as powerful as the MediaTek chip in the more expensive X8 Pro.
Asphalt Legends Come Together
We conducted tests on Asphalt using the highest settings and FPS capped at 60.
POCO M8 Pro runs smoothly at 60 FPS with no issues.
Galaxy A57 runs smoothly with 59 FPS at a performance level of 96%.
In Asphalt Legends United, even budget smartphones perform well, with the POCO M8 Pro achieving 60 frames with 100% stability, similar to the Galaxy A57. This shows promise for the POCO M8 Pro’s performance.

CarX Street
We test CarX Street with all settings maxed out and no FPS cap.
Poco M8 Pro achieves a frame rate of 27 FPS with a performance rating of 96%, but it does not meet the standard.
The Galaxy A57 runs at 40 frames per second with a 95% success rate.
The POCO Snapdragon quickly revealed its limitations when running the heavy game CarX, which remains challenging to run efficiently on phones not focused on performance. The POCO averaged 27 frames with decent stability, while Samsung maintained an average of 40 frames.

The first game to start shooting is always COD Mobile. The POCO M8 Pro surprised us by achieving 90 frames per second in Battle Royale mode, a feat not every phone can accomplish. This success highlights the superior optimization of Snapdragon over Samsung’s Exynos, which only achieved an average of 55 frames with 96% stability.
COD Mobile multiplayer
Poco M8 Pro can achieve 90 frames per second with 100% performance in competitive gaming.
Galaxy A17 runs smoothly at 59 frames per second with a performance rate of 96%.
In Multiplayer mode, it’s crucial to test the performance of devices, even if the data doesn’t affect rankings. The POCO maintains stability at 90 frames while the A57 disappointingly stays below 60, which is unusual for Multiplayer mode.

We conducted a test on Genshin Impact with all settings maxed out and the frame rate capped at 60.
POCO M8 Pro delivers a 30 FPS rate with a 95% efficiency in running כRODA.
Galaxy A57 achieves 36 frames per second with a performance rate of 95% when running the game RODAĆ.
An older game we tried out is Genshin, which still proves to be challenging to run even with its age. We tested it under extreme conditions on mobile, using maximum graphics settings in one of the most demanding areas of the game. In this scenario, the POCO device experienced performance issues, averaging 30 frames per second. On the other hand, Samsung performed slightly better, achieving an average of 36 frames per second. Both devices maintained stability at 95% and received a passing grade for running Genshin smoothly.
Windy Waves
We play Wuthering at 60 frames per second with everything set to medium.
POCO M8 Pro can achieve a frame rate of 30 FPS, reaching up to 79% performance capacity.
Galaxy A57 achieved a frame rate of 38 FPS, scoring 88% on the INDEXRODA benchmark.
Wuthering Waves is heavier than Genshin, but we test with small creatures in the middle rather than the maximum, allowing intermediaries an opportunity to create beauty.
The outcome in Wuthering was quite alike to Genshin Impact, with an average of 30 frames on POCO M8 Pro and 38 frames on Samsung in a small boss fight, though both devices struggled to maintain good performance.

We conducted a test on Minecraft using enhanced visuals and a rendering distance set to 16.
POCO M8 Pro runs at 40 frames per second with an efficiency rate of 81%.
Galaxy A57 performance in competitive mode: 65 FPS – 92%.
Minecraft, the top-selling game of all time, overtook Tetris in 2019. Despite its immense popularity, the game did not perform well on Snapdragon, with POCO experiencing issues such as low frame rates and instability.
Samsung’s intermediary performed significantly better, boasting an average of 65 frames and solid stability.

At Wild Rift, we tested all aspects and achieved an FPS of up to 120.
Poco M8 Pro achieves a frame rate of 100 FPS, which is 85% efficiency when running competitive games.
Galaxy A57 runs competitive games at 116 frames per second with a 98% performance level.
Bora de Wild Rift is a popular mobile version of League of Legends. I briefly tried this game as it stands out for its ability to maintain a frame rate above 60 on most devices. Both the POCO and Samsung mid-range phones performed well, but the Galaxy A57 outperformed the M8 Pro, particularly in terms of stability.

Battery Examination
One of the standout features of the POCO M8 Pro is its impressive battery capacity of 6,500mAh, which performed exceptionally well in a two-hour autonomy test, only using 17% while playing Stackball.

The Galaxy A57, in comparison, has a 5,000mAh battery and used 24% during the same test.
POCO takes approximately 40 minutes to charge from 0% to 100%, whereas Samsung’s charging time is nearly two hours. Xiaomi excels in battery and charging performance, leaving Samsung trailing in this aspect.
Temperature Examination
If the cell phone heats up during gaming, we also test it. After playing Genshin for an hour, the POCO M8 Pro reached a maximum external temperature of 40 °C, which felt comfortable.

The Galaxy A57 experienced increased warmth, reaching a temperature of 43°C, which is expected. Typically, a cell phone that heats up more tends to offer better performance, as was evident during the Genshin test.
Conclusion and Classification
