Cell phone explosions are more frequent than most people realize. One recent incident involved a Samsung Galaxy S24, a high-end model released around 2 years ago, where a user from South Korea reported that the device exploded while in use, starting to overheat abnormally.
The device started swelling rapidly shortly before the situation escalated, followed by smoke emerging from the Galaxy S24 as it became very hot. Ultimately, the device exploded, causing a lot of fear.
The report stated that the bottom of the device opened during the explosion, potentially minimizing the extent of damage. Luckily, the user only sustained minor burns on their hand and received medical treatment for smoke inhalation.

The user mentioned that he currently communicates directly with a Samsung service center in South Korea and plans to reach out to the company’s main office.
