Users are unable to log in to Discord on Friday due to a confirmed issue with the platform.

If you are unable to access Discord at the moment, it’s not due to your internet connection. The platform is currently experiencing an outage on Friday, May 8, impacting users globally.

The Downdetector graph clearly illustrates the situation: no issues were reported in the morning and early hours, but there was a sudden spike of almost 3,000 error alerts around 4 p.m. The major issues include login problems, messaging failures, and instability on both the mobile app and web platform.

The team reported that they were looking into issues with the API systems at 4:08 PM (Brasilia time).

The issue was recognized at 4:24 PM when the platform verified that numerous users were having trouble logging in.

A recent update revealed that the issue was affecting the service on a large scale, affecting functions like logging in and sending messages.

The team stated that they were still striving to address availability issues.

Discord has noted a “significant recovery” in their systems following the recent update, and is slowly restoring services while managing user traffic.

There is currently no set deadline for complete normalization, and the technical team remains active.

Service normalization appears to be making little progress at 6:00 PM.
