Sony reveals the top PSN games downloaded in April, with Saros failing to meet expectations.
Sony published the official ranking of the top downloaded games on the PlayStation Store in April 2026. The outcome was unexpected as Saros, a new game from Housemarque, had a less prominent debut than anticipated, despite being a highly-discussed PS5 exclusive for the year.
Saros entered the market at number 11 in the United States/Canada and ranked 17th in Europe for most downloaded PS5 games in April, according to data from the PlayStation Blog. This placement indicates that while the game’s debut was not as strong as some recent releases, it does not necessarily signify failure.
Saros did not perform as well as expected upon its debut on the PS Store.
Saros gained exclusive access to the calendar on April 28 for Digital Deluxe Edition purchasers, with a full release on April 30. This means the game was essentially released in the final days of April.

Returnal, another game by Housemarque, was able to secure the 3rd spot in the United States/Canada and the 4th spot in Europe upon its release on April 30, 2021, making it noteworthy when compared to similar cases.
Sea of Thieves was released on April 30, 2024, for PS5, ranking 3rd in the United States/Canada and 1st in Europe that month. Monster Hunter Wilds came out on February 28, 2025, topping the United States/Canada ranking and securing the 2nd spot in Europe despite being released on the last working day of the month.
Saros’s first release appears to be more reserved, and it is too soon to predict its commercial success. Initial indications on the PS Store suggest that the launch has been slower than expected.
